High Level Jiu-Jitsu Competitors in MMA: The Good and the Bad

After hearing Jacare and others talk about the reality of making a living purely off of Jiu-Jitsu, you have to take in the reality and let it simmer: for many athletes, the transition to MMA is a necessity if not an eventuality.
Marcelo Garcia did it. Jacare is now climbing the ranks up the UFC ladder. Roger's been hacking away at it for a few years now. Galvao spent time fighting in MMA. Lovato and Justin Rader now count themselves among the high level crossovers plugging their wares in the mixed martial arts world.

The following are updates on the careers of some of the more notable crossovers:

Roger appears to have changed his mind. Again.
He will continue plugging away in MMA rather than come to sport Jiu-Jitsu and make our BJJ nerd hearts and other parts soar with a potential match-up with Buchecha.







Very few black belts know this feeling
Tanquinho won his 2nd Professional MMA fight this past weekend.

Below is his MMA debut.

He transitioned to MMA after, like a thief in the night, beating Cobrinha and Rafa on the same day to become black belt world champion.
