BJJ Digest: Episodes 55 & 56 (Quintet 3 SET FOR USA EVENT!!!!!!)

YOOOOOOOOO! Awesome.

AND

BJJ Scout BJJ Digest

I'm late to the party on everything, but here we go:

UFC 220 Extended Preview: Miocic vs Ngannou

Frankly, I'm more excited to see the Bellator Bracket play out, but Stipe has the chance to do what hasn't been done in God knows how long: defend the HW strap 3x. That's just proof as how dangerous this division is. Wild. The card overall is great in that is also feature DC vs Oezdemir for the 205 lb strap. Another dual title fight card, so early in the year that is 2018. UFC on track to do another impressive run after it's bonkers 2017. Chomping at the bit over here guys. Straight up.

Paulie Malignaggi Got What He Wanted

In retrospect, we all saw his coming. The dude talked himself into headlines before even coming in as a sparring partner and it kinda blew up Mayweather and Mac did: it was publicity that gained traction, and Malignaggi has always stoked the flames of any press he got, efen before this brouhaha.

Malignaggi gets more spotlight than he ever did as a pro fighter, and dare I say it is more of a household name than he ever would've been otherwise.

I'm fairly certain the management teams have corrected the PR minds to cobble together a string of reveals to stoke the flames of interest leading up to the PPV. Malignaggi was just another element 59 keep the hype train rolling after the flames of the press conferences died down. I'm sure there'll be another reveal next week sometime, a last minute pitch for PPV dollars to casual fans.

First/Next Metamoris Match Announced, Eddie Bravo Invitational This Month - March 22nd

I got it from BJJ News, but this is also from Whoa.TV, a combat sports news site I was not previously familiar with.... Chael vs Babalu for the next Metamoris.

On that note, don't forget, the next installment of the Eddie Bravo Invitational is just a few weeks away. The production is good, the pace is kept moving right along, and there's just a cool flare to the event.

Gianni Grippo Promoted to Black Belt by Marcelo Garcia

Add Gianni to the list of American black belts who will now ply their trade in the elite division.

Gianni's departure from his longtime home at Team Renzo Gracie last year was a big story (as was the departure/exodus/collapse of Team Lloyd Irvin).
This year has us looking at Keenan Cornelius, Gianni, and the Miyao brothers as notable newly minted black belts.

The future is bright.

"Impossible"

One of those words most people fall back on when things seem difficult.....next to "ironic" probably one of the most overused and over extended words in the English language:

Success is often simply not taking "no" for an answer.
